IT’S
“WEEDING”
TIME AGAIN
Beginning the first of
April, the library will begin “weeding out” old, and
non-circulating books. These books will be placed in a box
in the library and given out free to any student, parent or
teacher who wants them. Most of these books are at least
ten years old or more and many contain out of date
information. After about a month, we will dispose of the
remaining books.
Thank
You, Mrs. Payne

BOOK FAIR 2008 Huge Success!
Once again, with the support of parents, students and
teachers, we had a very successful Scholastic Book Fair.
Our total sales were $3,559.19. The school received
approximately $200 in DVD’s and books and $960.96 in cash
which will be used to purchase new books and AR tests.
Thanks to Carolyn Lane, Christina Whitt, Kyla and Amanda
Cameron for helping with the PTO Open House. Thanks to the
8th grade students and Rick Mitchell for helping set up the
book fair, especially the boys who moved all the heavy boxes
and cases. Special thanks to Amanda, Kyla and Chloe Cameron
for helping every day after school and helping pack up the
book fair.
The following eighth grade students volunteered to help with
the primary grades while they visited the book fair:
Brittany B, Marisa U, Libby H, Paige McD, Austin H, Sarah
McK, Jackie M, CeCe N, Jessica C, Lizzie T, Natalie W,
Deanna E, Jacob F, David F, Billy F, Joey H, Lindsey W,
Avery B, Jonathan S, Kiefer B and Ashley C. They did a
wonderful job. And last of all, thanks to Jonathan S,
Ashley C and Kiefer B for sharing their acting abilities
with our morning book fair announcement.
During the
fair, all students participated in our “guess how many
pieces of candy are in the jar” contest. There were 253
pieces of candy in the jar and we had a tie. Makenzie G
guessed 254 and Rachel B guessed 252. They split the
candy. Congratulations, Makenzie and Rachel!
Congratulations to all the Poster winners and thanks for
making this year’s book fair a huge success. - Mrs. Payne
