From the Superintendent’s Desk…
Mrs. Hays
First of all, I would like to thank all of you who helped make
my first year as superintendent a rewarding experience. There
were so many “firsts” for me to learn, and I could not have
done it without the help and support of a great staff, great
parents, great organizations, and great community. I also
want to recognize the students. Summerville Grade School is
blessed to have the student body that we have. Our students
are GREAT!
With the 2009-2010 School Year over, it is time to begin
making plans for next year. We will be handling Student
Registration a little differently this summer. In July,
registration packets will be mailed to your home address.
Parents/guardians will complete the forms and return them to
the school on Registration Day, August 2nd.
There will be morning and evening hours available to complete
registration. (See section on Registration in this newsletter
for details.)

SCHOOL
ZONE
Please remember the laws
regarding driving in a school zone.
1. The speed
limit is 20mph when the lights are flashing.
2. It is
illegal to use a cell phone in a school zone.
3. It is
illegal to text while driving.
Most
people are aware that texting while driving is against the
law; however, many
are not
aware that talking on a cell phone in a school zone is also
against the law.
Please observe
the laws to ensure the safety of the students and our crossing
guard. thank you!
