Technology Club

The Summersville School Technology Club was formed to allow interested students to explore the world of technology beyond the usual computer classes.  The club meets twice a month and attempts to discover what is new and developing in the technology world.  Students provide discussion topics and projects for all to consider, discuss and experiment with when the proper hardware and software is available.

The club has been involved in several fundraisers and has bought several items for the school, including a Sony digital camera and attendant software to enhance and clarify digital photography.  Other projects have included a mass installation of computers in the school classrooms, assisting in senior community computer classes and aiding younger students in the Kindergarten through 3rd Grade lab and classrooms.  Additional projects are constantly sought to expand the technological horizons of the interested students.

Current plans include having the Tech Club members assist in maintaining and updating the school's website (the one you are looking at) and assist in preparing the monthly district-wide newsletter.

The club is open to all students in grades 5 through 8 who are interested in technology.  Meetings are held on the first and third Wednesdays of the month during the 8th period.
